    In the Customer Profile widget, agents may enter phone numbers and email addresses in Business Fields that are incorrectly formatted. The Business Field configuration allows administrators to designate specific business fields as phone or email fields and apply validation rules to them. When configured, the Customer Profile widget validates phone numbers and email addresses based on the selected field type, helping maintain consistent and accurate customer data.

    Configure Phone and Email Field Validation

    After logging into the admin application, to access the Business Fields page, follow these steps:

    1. From the top-right dropdown menu, select Configurator.

    2. In the left navigation menu, click Widget Configuration, then click Business Fields.

    3. In the Phone Number Fields textbox, enter the required business field names to which phone number validation should be applied.

      Note:

      Verify that the entered business field name for validation exactly matches the name defined in Business Fields, including case sensitivity.

    4. Click Add to add the business field names. To remove a field name, click the corresponding X button.

    5. In the Email Fields textbox, enter the required business field names to which email validation should be applied.

      Note:

      Verify that the entered business field name for validation exactly matches the name defined in Business Fields, including case sensitivity.

    6. Click Add to add the business field names. To remove a business field name, click the corresponding X button.

    7. Click Save. Upon save, a confirmation message, “Business Fields Configuration saved successfully” is displayed.

    Enable Alphabetical Sorting of Business Fields

    When enabled, business fields are displayed in ascending order by default. Agents can use the Sort option in the Customer Profile widget to switch between the default order and alphabetical order. This option applies to both Business fields and Optional business fields. To do so:

    1. On the Business Fields configuration page, select Enable Alphabetical Sorting.

    2. Click Save.
