Global Settings

The Global Settings page allows administrators to configure system-wide default values used across Data Cloud. These settings also define fallback values that the platform uses when incoming data does not contain certain required information.

To access the Global Settings page, follow these steps:

1. Click the gear icon on the Home page.

2. Click Global Settings.

The Global Settings page is displayed. The following screenshot depicts the default values of the page.

The Global Settings page contains the following fields:  

• Country Code – Displays the default country code used by the system. By default, the US country code is selected.

• Time Zone – Displays the default time zone used across Data Cloud operations. By default, the UTC time zone is selected.

• Logo – Allows administrators to upload or update the application logo.

• Favicon – Allows administrators to upload or update the browser favicon.

• Page Title  — Displays the title shown for the application  

You can edit these fields based on your preferences. Changes are applied at the system level and affect how Data Cloud processes information when values are not available in source records.

Country Code and Time Zone Impact

The configured Country Code is used during data ingestion if incoming records do not contain country code information in phone number attributes.

The configured Time Zone is used during data ingestion when records do not contain time zone information for date-time attributes This setting affects multiple Data Cloud operations and determines how date and time values are interpreted and processed.

• Ingestion – Acts as a fallback setting for ingested records when time zone information is unavailable in the source data.

• Segmentation - Acts as the primary time zone setting for segmentation processing. Data Cloud uses only the configured Global Settings value.

• Data API  - Acts as the primary time zone setting for Data API responses. Data Cloud uses only the configured Global Settings value.

• Source scheduler - Acts as the primary time zone setting for scheduled jobs configured in source systems. Data Cloud uses only the configured Global Settings value.

• Destination scheduler - Acts as the primary time zone setting for scheduled jobs configured in destination systems. Data Cloud uses only the configured Global Settings value.

Important:

1. Configure the preferred Country Code and Time Zone before starting activities such as data ingestion. If these settings are updated later, the changes apply only to subsequent ingestion and processing activities. Existing records and previously processed data are not modified.

2. Whenever the Time Zone setting is updated, all scheduled jobs associated with Source Mappings and Destination Mappings are automatically recreated based on the newly configured time zone.

3. Changes to the Country Code setting take effect after approximately 30 minutes. As a result, operations such as ingestion use the updated country code only after this propagation period has elapsed. Records processed before the change takes effect continue to use the previously configured country code.
