    Article summary

The Purge Files Configuration allows you to set up purge settings for archived files. The application adds data to various database tables and saves certain files daily or at configured intervals in separate folders. These files may include contact file upload data, contact file error data, and more. Over time, these files can accumulate, increasing in size and number, and occupying disk space, which can slow down the system and disrupt an optimal data retention plan. Use the Purge Files Configuration to efficiently manage these files and optimize storage space. Go to the Purge Files Configuration section to access the grid containing the current configurations in use.

    Add Purge Files

To configure the Purge Files feature, follow these steps:

    1. Enter a Purge Folder Description. Then, specify the Purge Folder Type by choosing from the available options: Local, S3, or Shared Drive.

    2. For Local folder configuration, enter the path to the Local Folder from which the files are to be purged.

    3. If using Amazon S3, select Amazon S3 as the storage type, then choose the S3 Settings from the dropdown. Refer to the Purge File Settings for detailed instructions. If you wish to archive these settings, check the Archive S3 Settings checkbox. In the S3 Path field, provide the S3 folder path or URL.

    4. For a Shared Drive, select Shared Drive, then choose the SharedDrive Settings from the dropdown list. Refer to the Purge File Settings for more details. If you want to save these settings to an archive, check the Archive Shared Drive Settings checkbox. In the Shared Drive Path field, enter the shared drive folder path.

      Note:

When specifying the path, do not include a slash or backslash at the beginning. For example, to archive data in the Archive folder on the machine with IP address 172.20.3.74, provide the IP address as 172.20.3.74 and the path as Archive. For a subfolder under Archive, specify the path as Archive\PurgeData.

    5. If using Google Cloud Storage, select Google Cloud Storage, then choose the Google Cloud Storage Settings from the dropdown list. Refer to the Purge File Settings for detailed instructions. If you wish to archive these settings, check the Archive Google Cloud Storage Settings checkbox. In the Bucket Path field, enter the bucket folder path.

    6. If you want to purge the archived files in all subfolders under the main folder, activate the Subfolder Enable checkbox.

    7. Select or enter the number of Retention Days. If you choose to purge the archived files, check the Purge Enable checkbox.

    8. Click Save to apply configurations.

    Add Purge File Settings

The Purge File Settings configuration allows you specify all the access details (locations and credentials) about your file locations - Amazon S3 bucket or Shared Drive - in a common page. You can then refer to these settings in the Purge File page. This saves you the time taken to enter all the authentication details for each purge activity. All the settings configured are listed as you go to the page.

    1. Go to Add Purge File Settings and enter Settings Name.

    2. Select the appropriate Setting Type.

    3. If the Setting Type is S3, enter the AWS Access Key, AWS Secret Key, AWS Region End Point, KMS Key, and Server Side Encryption. Select KMS Encrypt if you want the data encrypted using AWS’ KMS encryption.

    4. If the Setting Type is Shared Drive, enter the IP address, User ID, and Password.

    5. If the Setting Type is Google Cloud Storage, enter the Account Type, Private Key, and Client Email.

    6. Click Save.

    7. To edit or delete Purge File or Purge File Settings, click Edit or Delete under Action tab.
