Historical Data Sync

When Salesforce is plugged into Data Cloud initially, historical data from the past 6 months is synchronized providing a comprehensive view from the outset. Post initial sync, an incremental approach is adopted. This means only new or modified data is synced going forward. No revisiting already synced data, ensuring streamlined and up-to-date records.

In Data Cloud, working with Salesforce involves these key steps to ensure seamless data integration:

1. Creating a Connection: The first step is to set up a connection between Data Cloud and Salesforce. This step establishes a secure link, allowing data to flow between the two systems.

2. Configuring a Source: Next, the data source in Salesforce needs to be configured. This involves selecting the specific objects and fields from Salesforce that is synced with Data Cloud.

3. Mapping Fields: After configuring the source, the fields from Salesforce are mapped to the corresponding fields in Data Cloud. This ensures that data is accurately transferred and stored in the correct format.

4. Writing Data into Destination: Finally, write the mapped data into the destination within Data Cloud. This process updates the Data Cloud database with the latest information from Salesforce, making it ready for further use.
