SSO User

After ensuring that the Dynamo DB configurations for SSO-specific fields are complete, the next step is onboard new SSO users. This grants user the access to Workspace Admin with SSO permissions.
Important:
After a fresh installation, only the default SSO user can log in to Workspace Admin and onboard additional SSO users. This default SSO user is created during installation. To learn more about creating a default SSO user during installation, refer the Acqueon Workspace Configurator_Installation Guide.
Onboard a New SSO User
To onboard a new SSO user, follow these steps:
Click
located in the top-right corner of the page and select User.
Click +Add New.
The New User page is displayed.
Provide information for the following fields.
Field
Description
User Type
The dropdown contains the following options:
Local - Users managed directly within Workspace Admin
SSO - Users authenticated through Single Sign-On.
Active Directory - Users synced from your organization's Active Directory.
User Name
Specify a username. It is an identifier of the user and is an email address. For example, [email protected].
Display Name
Specify the preferred display name to be shown to other users. For example, John.
Role
Assign roles to the user from the dropdown menu. The available options are:
Admin - An admin can manage users, create and assign roles, add new gadgets to layouts, and edit or delete gadget configurations.
System - Users with System role see additional options like Channels and Billing Configurations in the Workspace application.
User - Primarily used in the agent application, such users can only fetch API content in the view mode. They cannot add, update, or delete data.
Note:
An account with "User" privileges cannot access the admin application and encounters the following error message.
Click Submit.
The newly added user is displayed on the Users page. This user can now log into the Workspace Admin with SSO permissions.
Edit an SSO User
To edit an SSO user, follow these steps:
On the Users page, click the edit icon on the required user.
Update the required settings.
Click Update.
Delete an SSO User
To delete an SSO User, follow these steps:
Click the delete icon on the required user. A confirmation message is displayed.
Click Yes.
