Compliance ensures adherence to regulations and standards when uploading certain types of contacts. You can upload the following types of contacts:
Do Not Call (DNC): The DNC registry is a list of numbers that have requested not to be disturbed by unwanted phone calls. The DNC registry is a list of contacts who have requested not to receive unsolicited phone calls. Additionally, DNC stands for Do Not Contact for email and SMS channels. When a contact is marked under DNC, all channels (voice, SMS, and email) are blocked from further unsolicited communication.
National Do Not Call (NDNC): This is DNC registry at the national level. If a number is registered under NDNC, no person or organization makes unsolicited calls. NDNC also applies to National Do Not Contact policies for SMS and email channels, ensuring no unsolicited communication occurs via any medium.
Prior Express Written Consent (PEWC): This mandates telemarketers to obtain written consent from called parties before making auto-dialed or prerecorded telemarketing calls to wireless numbers and prerecorded calls to residential landlines.
Customer Preferred Time (CPT): This allows configuring three different customer-preferred calling times through an uploaded file. The application schedules contacts for dialing at these specified times. You can configure time zones as needed.
Import File
Perform the following steps to import the file:
Select the Upload Type and the Import Mode from the dropdown list.
Select the File type from Text/CSV.
If the file type is a Text/CSV, select a Delimiter. Use any one of the following delimiters in your upload file: comma (,), dash (-), dollar ($), percent (%), pipe (|), circumflex or caret (^), ampersand (&), asterisk (*), and tab.
Click Choose File to Import and select a file.
Note:
When using the application in a localized language other than English, save the contact file placed for upload in UTF-8 encoding.
If you are uploading from a Profile, select one from the dropdown list. For quick upload, see Quick Upload.
Field Mapping
When the import is completed, you must map the fields. Perform the following steps to map the fields:
Go to the Field Mapping tab and select one the following from the dropdown list.
Country Code: field in the upload file that must be mapped to country code.
DNC Data: field mapped as filter for DNC data.
Area Code: field that is mapped to area code.
Channel Type: channel on which this DNC upload applies, such as voice, Email, or SMS.
If the uploaded type is DNC:
Activate the DNC Duration to select the duration from the uploaded file.
To mark this contact as DNC permanently, activate the DNC Forever button.
Note:
The DNC Duration field is active only if the Upload Type is DNC.
Select the Start Date and the End Date if the DNC Forever field is not enabled.
If the upload type is NDNC:
Select the NDNC Data from the dropdown list.
Select the Start Date field and the End Date field from the dropdown list to map.
Select the Date Format from the dropdown list.
If the upload type is PEWC:
Select the PEWC Data field from the dropdown list.
Select Consent if the contact provides consent, or Non-Consent if there is no consent, as per the definition of Prior Express Written Consent.
If the upload type is CPT, select a time zone.
Select Upload from File if you want the CPT as specified in the contact upload file.
Ensure your upload file has a time zone.
Select the Time Zone and map a field from the uploaded file that is the Time Zone for CPT. Ensure that the Time Zone in your upload file is already available in the application.
Select the Use Area Code to use the time zone of the Area Code as the CPT time zone.
Select the Day of Week from the uploaded file in the dropdown list for the customer-preferred day of the week to receive the call. Upload file must contain at least two initial consecutive letters for the day of the week such as Mo for Monday, Tu for Tuesday, and so on. This is a mandatory field.
Select a Time Format from HH:MM and HH:MM:XM. Time format must match that format given in the upload file.
Select a Slot A Start Time, Slot A End Time, Slot B Start Time, Slot B End Time, Slot C Start Time, and Slot C End Time.
Note:
It is not mandatory to select all three slots. However, if you select multiple slots, you must select them sequentially - first Slot A, then Slot B, and then Slot C.
Campaign/Category Specific Compliance
Note:
This is an optional step.
Go to the Campaign/Category Specific Compliance tab.
If you select Campaign Specific DNC, select a campaign to apply compliance.
If you select Category Specific DNC and select the appropriate campaign categories to apply compliance. The contact is blocked by DNC for all campaigns in this category.
Click Save.
Quick Search
For a Quick Search:
Select the Upload Type and the CategoryType.
Enter the value to search. This is the telephone number of the contact marked as one of DNC, NDNC, CPT, or PEWC.
Click Find.
For DNC and NDNC, the application displays the Compliance Data, Category, Start Date &Time, End Date &Time, and Type.
Note:
The Type field is applicable for DNC and NDNC filter.
For PEWC, the search result populates the Compliance Data, Category, Channel, and Consent Type for all matching records.
For CPT, the search result populates the Compliance Data, Category, Channel, Day of Week, and the time range for Slot A, Slot B, and Slot C (available slots) for all matching records.
Quick Upload
For a quick upload:
In the Import File section, click the + icon (Quick Upload).
Select the Upload Type and the Channel Type.
Note:
The channel type is not applicable for PEWC upload type.
Select the Category from the dropdown list.
Enter the Compliance Data such as DNC data, NDNC data, or PEWC data. Instead of the contact phone number, you can also enter the value for any Business Parameter based on which the contact is to be marked as DNC. See Business Parameters.
Enable the DNC Forever checkbox in the Valid Duration field to mark the contact as DNC forever.
Enter the Start Time and the End Time. This contact remains marked as DNC for the selected period.
Note:
This is only applicable if the DNC Forever checkbox is not selected.
If the upload type is PEWC, select Consent if the contact provides consent, or Non Consent if they do not, as per Prior Express Written Consent.
If the upload type is CPT, select a time zone.
Selecta Day of Week for the customer-preferred day of the week to receive the call.
Select the checkbox for Slot A. Select the Start Time and End Time for the customer-preferred calling time for this slot. Click OK.
If you need another slot, select the checkbox for Slot B. Select the Start Time and End Time for the customer-preferred calling time for this slot. Click OK.
If you need a third slot, select the checkbox for Slot C. Select the Start Time and End Time for the customer-preferred calling time for this slot. Click OK.
Click Upload.

Area Code | Business field to be mapped as an Area Code. The state law compliance for this campaign is as per the area code that is configured in System. The state law of the state belonging to this area code is applied. |
Channel Type | Mode of communication to apply DNC upload such as Voice, Email, or SMS. You can select multiple channel types. |
DNC Duration | Duration of contacts to be marked as DNC. |
DNC Forever | DNC forever allows uploaded contacts to DNC/NDNC/PEWC forever. |
